 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Imogene Giesinger Elementary School in Conroe has
 been named a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of
 Education; and
 WHEREAS, The Blue Ribbon designation recognizes schools that
 have maintained superior levels of academic achievement or that are
 making significant gains while serving an economically
 disadvantaged student population; presented with the honor for its
 overall academic excellence, Giesinger Elementary is among 25
 campuses in Texas and fewer than 300 public and private schools in
 the nation to be selected as Blue Ribbon Schools in 2014; and
 WHEREAS, Under the skillful guidance of principal Rebecca
 Shepard Page, Giesinger Elementary has been rated "Exemplary" by
 the Texas Education Agency for three of the past five years, and in
 2014, the school was named a Title I Reward School based on student
 performance and improvement; these accomplishments are a testament
 to the school's success in creating an engaging learning
 environment in which the individual strengths and needs of each
 student are considered, as well as to its productive efforts to
 encourage the involvement of parents and community volunteers in
 the education process; and
 WHEREAS, Through their diligence, hard work, and dedication,
 the teachers and students of Giesinger Elementary School have built
 an impressive record of scholastic success, and they may take great
 pride in earning this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Imogene Giesinger Elementary
 School on its selection as a 2014 Blue Ribbon School by the U.S.
 Department of Education and extend to the school's students,
 teachers, staff, and administrators sincere best wishes for
 continued achievement; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
