| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A native of Michoacán, Mexico, Mr. Lopez came to the |

| 9 | 10 | | United States in the early 1960s; he diligently saved up over the |

| 10 | 11 | | ensuing years, and in 1965 he purchased Center Automatic |

| 11 | 12 | | Transmission and Engine Exchange for $10,000; and |

| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed entrepreneur gained a loyal customer |

| 13 | 14 | | base during his five decades running the garage, where he offered |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | his customers ready-to-install transmissions and a wide range of |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | other car repair services; Mr. Lopez devoted countless hours to |

| 16 | 17 | | keeping his shop running smoothly, overcoming many professional and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | personal obstacles as he continued to work until the age of 83; and |

| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, In retirement, Mr. Lopez looks forward to spending |

| 19 | 20 | | more time with his wife and three daughters and to pursuing his |

| 20 | 21 | | favorite pastime, hunting; and |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Luis Lopez's skill and determination have made him |

| 22 | 23 | | an American success story, and he may indeed take great pride in his |

| 23 | 24 | | outstanding achievements as he embarks on the next exciting chapter |
