H.R. No. 1184
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Darlene Denton was named the Thomas C. Ferguson
Outstanding Citizen of the Year at the Burnet Chamber of Commerce
annual awards banquet on February 7, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the Burnet chamber recognizes
individuals and businesses for their outstanding achievements and
for their efforts to benefit the local community; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Denton works as the coordinator of the Burnet
Consolidated Independent School District's Parent Resource Center;
additionally, she volunteers at local nursing homes, and she is an
active member of the DIVA Dawgs Foundation, the Bulldog Booster
Club, and the Esprit de Corps Booster Club; and
WHEREAS, Through her exceptional contributions, Darlene
Denton has furthered Burnet's reputation as a great place to live,
work, and raise a family, and she is indeed deserving of this
notable honor; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Darlene Denton on her selection as
the Citizen of the Year by the Burnet Chamber of Commerce and extend
to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Denton as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
