R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Stuart Parsons Jr. of Waco has set an inspiring
example of giving by making a generous donation to the Doris Miller
Family YMCA; and
WHEREAS, The owner of BSR Cable Park, Mr. Parsons presented
the YMCA with a check for $25,000 on December 17, 2014, in memory of
SirLemuel Calhoun, a 12-year-old boy who drowned at the park in
June; the money will fund swimming lessons and swim safety programs
in the East Waco community, and BSR additionally plans to build a
splash park area for younger children in SirLemuel's name; and
WHEREAS, Through his admirable support, Stuart Parsons has
made a meaningful difference in the Waco community, and his
noteworthy contribution is indeed deserving of recognition; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Stuart Parsons Jr. for his donation to
the Doris Miller Family YMCA and extend to him sincere best wishes
for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Parsons as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
