| 10 | 11 | | Mustangs rebounded with seven consecutive victories to close out |

| 11 | 12 | | the regular season, claiming the district title and punching their |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | ticket to the state playoffs; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Continuing its commanding play in the postseason, |

| 14 | 15 | | Cypress Ranch dominated the team from Aldine High School by a score |

| 15 | 16 | | of 52-0, before tallying a comfortable victory over Cinco Ranch in |

| 16 | 17 | | the area round of play; the Mustangs then edged out North Shore and |

| 17 | 18 | | Dickinson High Schools in the ensuing rounds to clinch a spot in the |

| 18 | 19 | | state semifinals; there, the team proved its mettle once again in a |

| 19 | 20 | | matchup with Judson High School, pulling away for a 38-31 triumph |

| 20 | 21 | | and securing the school's first trip to the state championship |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, The Mustangs turned in a valiant effort versus the |

| 23 | 24 | | defending state champions from Allen High School in the 6A Division |

| 24 | 25 | | 1 finale but were ultimately defeated, concluding the season with a |

| 25 | 26 | | stellar record of 13 wins to only 3 losses; and |

| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, The success enjoyed by the Mustangs throughout the |

| 27 | 28 | | year was the result of a true team effort, with significant |

| 28 | 29 | | contributions being made by each member of the roster; these |

| 29 | 30 | | talented student-athletes were guided by head coach Gene Johnson, |

| 32 | 33 | | WHEREAS, Through perseverance, hard work, and an enduring |
