H.R. No. 1249
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Dorcas T. Bullock of the Alabama-Coushatta Indian
Reservation celebrated her 95th birthday on February 20, 2015, to
the delight of her family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Born in 1920, Ms. Bullock is a lifelong resident of
the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation and the tribe's oldest
living member; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed woman is the beloved matriarch of a
fine family that has grown to include her three children, Lawrine
Battise, Mavis Marroquin and her husband, Joe, and Wayne Bullock
and his wife, Genny, as well as her 14 grandchildren, 35
great-grandchildren, and 42 great-great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Dorcas Bullock is an inspiration to all who have the
good fortune to know her, and her 95th birthday offers a welcome
opportunity to remind her of the special place she holds in the
hearts of her loved ones; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Dorcas T. Bullock on her 95th
birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Bullock as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
