 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Although the passing of Dr. Albert Lee Guinn Jr. has
 brought great sorrow to those who loved him, memories of a life
 filled with joyful times and meaningful accomplishments remain to
 comfort his family and friends; and
 WHEREAS, Born to Albert Lee Guinn Sr. and Eleanor Bohannon in
 Port Arthur on December 24, 1951, Albert Lee Guinn Jr. grew up in
 the Panama Canal Zone, where his father was a ship's pilot, as well
 as in Port Lavaca; after high school, he attended The University of
 Texas at Austin to study science, ultimately skipping an
 undergraduate degree to become the youngest student in his medical
 school class at the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio; and
 WHEREAS, Dr. Guinn graduated following an externship in the
 pediatric ward at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin and went on to
 complete an internal medicine residency at the Ochsner Clinic in
 New Orleans; an exceptional physician, he treated his patients with
 compassion and empathy while using his wealth of knowledge to give
 them the best possible care; his medical career continued to
 flourish after he and his wife, Jane, opened the Longevity and
 Wellness Center of South Texas, with branches in Rockport and
 Corpus Christi; and
 WHEREAS, An active and accomplished individual, Dr. Guinn
 had several passions outside of medicine, and he pursued them with
 his characteristic zest for life; his interest in exercise and
 fitness led him to participate in numerous marathons and serve as an
 aerobics instructor for over 20 years at the YMCA; he loved sailing,
 as well, and spent the last year of his life on his boat, sailing
 from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, through New York Bay and 20 miles up
 the Hudson River, with an extended stay in Charleston, South
 Carolina; he was also a skilled painter and sang in the choir at
 St. Peter's by the Sea Episcopal Church in Rockport; and
 WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Dr. Guinn enjoyed the
 support of a loving family that included his wife, Jane, his two
 sons, Trey and Colin, his two daughters, Audrey and Kathryn, and his
 four grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, Renowned for his boundless enthusiasm, his effusive
 smile, and his generosity of spirit, Dr. Lee Guinn made a positive
 difference in the lives of many people, and all those who were
 privileged to share in his friendship and affection will forever
 hold him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Dr. Albert Lee Guinn
 Jr. and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
 wife, Jane; to his sons, Trey and Colin; to his daughters, Audrey
 and Kathryn; to his grandchildren, Achilles, Montana, Jade, and
 Cruz; to his sister, Gale, and her husband, Bill; to his brother,
 Greg; to his brother-in-law, Jim, and his wife, Jill; and to his
 other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dr. Albert
 Lee Guinn Jr.
