H.R. No. 1313
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Alfredo
L. Flores of San Antonio, who died on November 5, 2014, at the age of
73; and
WHEREAS, Fred Flores was born on November 30, 1940, in San
Antonio, one of 14 children of Nicolas and Anita Flores; he was a
veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, worked for a time as a private
investigator, and operated a successful business, the Speedway Inn,
for more than 35 years; and
WHEREAS, Devoted to his family, Mr. Flores was the loving
husband of Sylvia, the proud father of three children, Robert,
Alfredo, and Denise, an adoring grandfather of three, and a father
figure to his nieces and nephews, all of whom were inspired by his
kind and supportive nature; and
WHEREAS, He collected antiques, fished, and traveled in his
leisure time, and he particularly enjoyed watching the Dallas
Cowboys and old western movies; and
WHEREAS, Fred Flores lived a caring and purposeful life, and
he will forever be remembered with deep affection by all who held
him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Alfredo L. Flores and
extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
Sylvia Flores; to his children, Robert Flores and his wife,
Patricia, Alfredo L. Flores Jr. and his wife, Lisa, and Denise
Flores; to his grandchildren, Christopher Flores, Eric Flores and
his wife, Yoselin, and Annalise Villanueva; to his brothers,
Librado Flores and his wife, Melinda, Alvino Flores and his wife,
Molly, Paul Flores, and Faustino Flores; to his sisters, Audelia
Martinez, Benita Lopez and her husband, Ignacio, Molly Rodriguez
and her husband, Albert, and Gloria Ward; and to his other relatives
and friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Alfredo L.
Flores.
