45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Megan Mizell of San Angelo has attained the Girl
67 Scout Gold Award, the organization's highest commendation; and
78 WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Mizell successfully
89 met a series of requirements emphasizing community service,
910 personal and spiritual growth, positive values, and leadership
1011 skills; in addition, she planned and implemented a Girl Scout Gold
1112 Award project to provide underserved children with donated tickets
1213 to various fine arts performances; the program, called First
1314 Experiences, was inspired by her own influences from the theater
1415 and music, and she hopes to motivate other young Texans to develop
1516 an interest in the arts; and
1617 WHEREAS, By encouraging young women to build confidence,
1718 explore career opportunities, and become more socially conscious,
1819 the Girl Scout program is helping its participants to achieve their
1920 greatest potential as engaged citizens and leaders; and
2021 WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Megan Mizell has
2122 demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the highest
2223 ideals of the Girl Scout organization, and she indeed merits
2324 special recognition for her achievement; now, therefore, be it
2425 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2526 Legislature hereby congratulate Megan Mizell on earning the Girl
2627 Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
2728 success and happiness; and, be it further
2829 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2930 prepared for Ms. Mizell as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3031 House of Representatives.
