 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Megan Mizell of San Angelo has attained the Girl
 Scout Gold Award, the organization's highest commendation; and
 WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Mizell successfully
 met a series of requirements emphasizing community service,
 personal and spiritual growth, positive values, and leadership
 skills; in addition, she planned and implemented a Girl Scout Gold
 Award project to provide underserved children with donated tickets
 to various fine arts performances; the program, called First
 Experiences, was inspired by her own influences from the theater
 and music, and she hopes to motivate other young Texans to develop
 an interest in the arts; and
 WHEREAS, By encouraging young women to build confidence,
 explore career opportunities, and become more socially conscious,
 the Girl Scout program is helping its participants to achieve their
 greatest potential as engaged citizens and leaders; and
 WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Megan Mizell has
 demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the highest
 ideals of the Girl Scout organization, and she indeed merits
 special recognition for her achievement; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Megan Mizell on earning the Girl
 Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
 success and happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Mizell as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
