| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the State of Texas |

| 6 | 6 | | is pleased to recognize Gini Garcia, who has been selected for |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | induction on March 21, 2015, into the San Antonio Women's Hall of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Fame for her outstanding work and leadership in creative arts; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since 1984, the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | annually honors those women who have contributed significantly to |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the San Antonio community and the Bexar County region through their |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Gini Garcia has been active as a glass artist and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | designer for over 20 years at her studio in San Antonio, Texas; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, She is the first artist to be chosen as a woman of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | influence in the arts by the San Antonio Business Journal and has |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | received a citation of honor for contributions to the built |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | environment in the State of Texas by The American Institute of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Architects, the highest award to a non-architect; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The beauty and quality of her work is reflected in |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | commissions by both public institutions and private corporations, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | including the installation of more than 50 site-specific works and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | countless private commissions worldwide; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the State of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend Gini Garcia for her |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on her |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be it |
