H.R. No. 1333
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the State of Texas
is pleased to recognize Gini Garcia, who has been selected for
induction on March 21, 2015, into the San Antonio Women's Hall of
Fame for her outstanding work and leadership in creative arts; and
WHEREAS, Since 1984, the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame
annually honors those women who have contributed significantly to
the San Antonio community and the Bexar County region through their
accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and
WHEREAS, Gini Garcia has been active as a glass artist and
designer for over 20 years at her studio in San Antonio, Texas; and
WHEREAS, She is the first artist to be chosen as a woman of
influence in the arts by the San Antonio Business Journal and has
received a citation of honor for contributions to the built
environment in the State of Texas by The American Institute of
Architects, the highest award to a non-architect; and
WHEREAS, The beauty and quality of her work is reflected in
commissions by both public institutions and private corporations,
including the installation of more than 50 site-specific works and
countless private commissions worldwide; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the State of
Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend Gini Garcia for her
exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on her
induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her as an expression of high regard and esteem by the
Texas House of Representatives.
