| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the State of Texas |

| 6 | 6 | | is pleased to recognize Patsy Cheyney, who has been selected for |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | induction on March 21, 2015, into the San Antonio Women's Hall of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Fame for her outstanding work and leadership in innovation; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since 1984, the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | annually honors those women who have contributed significantly to |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the San Antonio community and the Bexar County region through their |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Patsy Cheyney has long served her community as the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | executive director of Home Comforts; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Home Comforts, an innovative non-profit corporation |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | which attempts to provide emergency help to those of Bexar County's |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | chronically mentally ill who are in "independent housing" has been |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | assisting Bexar County residents since it was founded in 2002; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Because of her innovative and hard work as executive |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | director of this agency, Patsy Cheyney has assisted thousands of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Bexar County residents to live independently despite dealing with |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | mental illness and has brought greater understanding to the general |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | public of the importance of mental health; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the State of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend Patsy Cheyney for her |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on her |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | further |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
