H.R. No. 1337
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the State of Texas
is pleased to recognize Patsy Cheyney, who has been selected for
induction on March 21, 2015, into the San Antonio Women's Hall of
Fame for her outstanding work and leadership in innovation; and
WHEREAS, Since 1984, the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame
annually honors those women who have contributed significantly to
the San Antonio community and the Bexar County region through their
accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and
WHEREAS, Patsy Cheyney has long served her community as the
executive director of Home Comforts; and
WHEREAS, Home Comforts, an innovative non-profit corporation
which attempts to provide emergency help to those of Bexar County's
chronically mentally ill who are in "independent housing" has been
assisting Bexar County residents since it was founded in 2002; and
WHEREAS, Because of her innovative and hard work as executive
director of this agency, Patsy Cheyney has assisted thousands of
Bexar County residents to live independently despite dealing with
mental illness and has brought greater understanding to the general
public of the importance of mental health; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the State of
Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend Patsy Cheyney for her
exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on her
induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her as an expression of high regard and esteem by the
Texas House of Representatives.
