| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the State of Texas |

| 6 | 6 | | is pleased to recognize Martha K. Spinks, who has been selected for |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | induction on March 21, 2015, into the San Antonio Women's Hall of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Fame for her outstanding work and leadership in support of the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | military; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Since 1984, the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | annually honors those women who have contributed significantly to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | the San Antonio community and the Bexar County region through their |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Martha K. Spinks was an Army spouse before being |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | commissioned as an Army social work officer, and she and her husband |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | raised two children during their Army career, rising to the rank of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Lieutenant Colonel; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, She has been the Director of Bexar Area Agency on |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Aging for Alamo Area Council of Governments in San Antonio, Texas, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | since June 2009 and in that role has made veterans and their |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | families a |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | priority group for information, referral and assistance |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | services and has worked closely with the San Antonio Coalition for |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Veterans and other groups to provide services to those who have |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | bravely served us; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the State of |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend Martha K. Spinks for her |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on her |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be it |
