R E S O L U T I O N
WHER
EAS, The House of Representatives of the State of Texas
is pleased to recognize Amy L. Gowder, who has been selected for
induction on March 21, 2015, into the San Antonio Women's Hall of
Fame for her outstanding work and leadership in technology; and
WHEREAS, Since 1984, the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame
annually honors those women who have contributed significantly to
the San Antonio community and the Bexar County region through their
accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and
WHEREAS, Amy L. Gowder is Vice President & General Manager of
Lockheed Martin Kelly Aviation Center’s two locations, San Antonio,
Texas, and Montreal, Canada, supporting eleven engine lines that
power more than 15 military and commercial aircraft and builds the
power plants for the F-16 and F-15 fighter jets; and
WHEREAS, This MIT graduate continues to lead on the cutting
edge of technology by serving on San Antonio College’s Challenger
Learning Center Advisory Council and by serving as a member of the
Association of Manufacturing Excellence; she was also recently
named a “Top 40 under 40” aviation executive by Aviation Week; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the State of
Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend Amy L. Gowder for her
exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on her
induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her as an expression of high regard and esteem by the
Texas House of Representatives.
