| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of John |

| 6 | 7 | | James Ellison of Brady, who passed away on December 24, 2014, at the |

|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Jim Ellison was born in Brady on August 31, 1938, to |

| 9 | 10 | | William and Wynonna Ellison; a lifelong resident of McCulloch |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | County, he was elected to represent Precinct 3 on the county |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | commissioners court in 2013 and proudly served his community until |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | the end of his life; he and his fellow commissioners were |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | responsible for managing the construction and maintenance of county |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | roads and bridges and for ensuring the availability of county |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | services to all residents through the adoption of an appropriate |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | budget and tax rate; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, On December 4, 1970, Jim Ellison married the love of |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | his life, the former Scarlett Annita Bennett, and the couple shared |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | a rewarding union that spanned 44 years, until his passing; |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Mr. Ellison was the proud father of three sons, Scott, Dean, and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Casey, and he was further blessed with three beloved |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | granddaughters; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, In January 2011, Jim and Nita Ellison celebrated the |

| 24 | 25 | | opening of their new business, Heart of Texas Pet Grooming in Brady; |

| 25 | 26 | | an avid outdoorsman, Mr. Ellison loved to hunt, fish, and watch |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | horse races; he also enjoyed dancing with his wife and playing poker |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | with his friends; above all else, he cherished the time he was able |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | to spend with his family; and |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Jim Ellison left an indelible impression on all who |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | were blessed to know him, and those who shared in the warmth of his |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | friendship and affection will forever hold him close in their |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | hearts; now, therefore, be it |

| 33 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
