| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Tigua Recreation and Wellness Center in Socorro |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Opened by the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo in 2001, the |

| 9 | 10 | | Tigua Recreation and Wellness Center encompasses more than 100,000 |

| 10 | 11 | | square feet of space and includes an Olympic-size pool, weights and |

| 11 | 12 | | fitness equipment, and racquetball, basketball, tennis, and |

| 12 | 13 | | volleyball courts; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Access to the center was originally limited to the |

| 14 | 15 | | members of the pueblo, but since 2014, it has served the general |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | public as well; this development has greatly benefited individuals |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | in the Lower Valley, which has a shortage of recreational |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | facilities; and |

| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Exercise is a vital component of a healthy |

| 19 | 20 | | lifestyle, and by enabling more people to take advantage of its |

| 20 | 21 | | facilities, the Tigua Recreation and Wellness Center is making a |

| 21 | 22 | | valuable contribution to its community; now, therefore, be it |

| 22 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 23 | 24 | | Legislature hereby recognize the Tigua Recreation and Wellness |

| 24 | 25 | | Center for the role it plays in encouraging healthy physical |

| 25 | 26 | | activity and commend its management and staff for their efforts; |
