| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Denco Area 9-1-1 District in Lewisville has |

| 6 | 7 | | received the 2015 Outstanding 9-1-1 Call Center/Program Award from |

| 7 | 8 | | the NG9-1-1 Institute; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the institute is |

| 9 | 10 | | a not-for-profit organization that works with the Congressional |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | NextGen 9-1-1 Caucus to promote the deployment of advanced, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | effective Next Generation 9-1-1 emergency services across the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | nation; it serves as a national clearinghouse and policy forum on |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | NG9-1-1 issues, and since its inception in 2003, its membership has |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | grown to include approximately 2,000 professionals, public safety |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | officials, policy makers, researchers, and concerned citizens; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The Denco Area 9-1-1 District implemented and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | maintains the 9-1-1 system for Denton County and the entire city of |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Carrollton, and it serves as the coordinating agency for 9-1-1 |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | emergency service; created by special election in 1987, the |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | district sends emergency calls to public safety answering points at |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | the Denton County Sheriff's Office and in the police departments of |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Carrollton, Denton, Flower Mound, Highland Village, Lake Dallas, |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Lewisville, Roanoke, The Colony, the University of North Texas, and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | Texas Woman's University; and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Through its exceptional service to the public, the |

| 26 | 27 | | Denco Area 9-1-1 District has saved countless lives and contributed |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | immeasurably to the well-being of area citizens, and its management |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | and staff may indeed take pride in this prestigious national |

| 29 | 30 | | accolade; now, therefore, be it |

| 30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 31 | 32 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the Denco Area 9-1-1 District on |

| 32 | 33 | | its receipt of the 2015 Outstanding 9-1-1 Call Center/Program Award |
