5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Juan Martinez can take well-deserved pride in the |

6 | 7 | | outstanding service he has rendered to the residents of his |

7 | 8 | | community during his first year and a half as superintendent of the |

8 | 9 | | Clint Independent School District; and |

9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Martinez earned his bachelor's degree in |

10 | 11 | | business administration in 1993 and his master's degree in school |
---|
11 | 12 | | administration in 1996, both from The University of Texas at El |
---|
12 | 13 | | Paso; in the years since, he has earned a teacher certification in |
---|
13 | 14 | | bilingual education, a mid-management certificate, and a |
---|
14 | 15 | | superintendent certification, and he is currently working toward a |
---|
15 | 16 | | doctorate in education at UT El Paso; and |
---|
16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, This veteran educator began his exemplary 20-year |
---|
17 | 18 | | career in 1994, as an elementary school teacher for the Socorro ISD; |
---|
18 | 19 | | he joined Clint ISD in 1997 as an assistant principal, and he has |
---|
19 | 20 | | gone on to serve as principal of Montana Vista Elementary School and |
---|
20 | 21 | | as the district's director of personnel services; he returned to |
---|
21 | 22 | | Socorro ISD for three years as chief human resources officer before |
---|
22 | 23 | | becoming the Clint ISD superintendent in August 2013; and |
---|
23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Through his unwavering commitment to his students |
---|
24 | 25 | | and staff, Juan Martinez has led the way in fostering a supportive |
---|
25 | 26 | | and challenging educational environment, one that gives students a |
---|
26 | 27 | | vision of what they might attain if they strive for success and that |
---|
27 | 28 | | equips them with skills that will help them to build fulfilling and |
---|
28 | 29 | | productive lives; now, therefore, be it |
---|
29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
---|
30 | 31 | | Legislature hereby honor Juan Martinez, superintendent of the Clint |
---|
31 | 32 | | Independent School District, for his admirable service to his |
---|
32 | 33 | | fellow citizens and extend to him sincere best wishes for the |
