H.R. No. 1440 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Juan Martinez can take well-deserved pride in the outstanding service he has rendered to the residents of his community during his first year and a half as superintendent of the Clint Independent School District; and WHEREAS, Mr. Martinez earned his bachelor's degree in business administration in 1993 and his master's degree in school administration in 1996, both from The University of Texas at El Paso; in the years since, he has earned a teacher certification in bilingual education, a mid-management certificate, and a superintendent certification, and he is currently working toward a doctorate in education at UT El Paso; and WHEREAS, This veteran educator began his exemplary 20-year career in 1994, as an elementary school teacher for the Socorro ISD; he joined Clint ISD in 1997 as an assistant principal, and he has gone on to serve as principal of Montana Vista Elementary School and as the district's director of personnel services; he returned to Socorro ISD for three years as chief human resources officer before becoming the Clint ISD superintendent in August 2013; and WHEREAS, Through his unwavering commitment to his students and staff, Juan Martinez has led the way in fostering a supportive and challenging educational environment, one that gives students a vision of what they might attain if they strive for success and that equips them with skills that will help them to build fulfilling and productive lives; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby honor Juan Martinez, superintendent of the Clint Independent School District, for his admirable service to his fellow citizens and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Martinez as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
