H.R. No. 1528
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Ryan Frederick Rumney of Boy Scouts of America Troop
No. 219 attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this accomplishment
truly merits special recognition; and
WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant
honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the
scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding
criteria, Mr. Rumney earned the requisite 21 merit badges and
successfully completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his
community, which involved constructing two benches for a cemetery
in North Dallas; and
WHEREAS, The son of Randy and Cindy Rumney, this fine young
Texan has served as a troop leader, winning the respect and
admiration of his fellow scouts as he worked toward the highest rank
that the organization offers; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Rumney has distinguished himself outside of
scouting as well, earning recognition for his artistic talents and
playing trumpet in the band at his high school; upon graduation, he
plans to attend The University of Texas at Dallas; and
WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Rumney's dedication to excellence and
his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy
to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with
pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Ryan Frederick Rumney on attaining
the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for
continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Rumney as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
