| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Francisco Gomez has earned the great esteem of |

| 6 | 7 | | members of the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo community through his service |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Elected to the Pueblo's governing body on December |

| 9 | 10 | | 31, 2005, Mr. Gomez is now in his third term on the council and is |

| 10 | 11 | | actively engaged in nation-building processes to promote a strong |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | tribal government; he works in the Pueblo Maintenance Department to |

| 12 | 13 | | assist with the preservation of Pueblo lands and tribal structures |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | and is likewise committed to furthering security and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | sustainability; and |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, In addition to his longtime leadership in the tribe, |

| 16 | 17 | | Mr. Gomez is employed at the Speaking Rock Entertainment Center, a |

| 17 | 18 | | Tigua-owned business, where he transports visitors to the Pueblo to |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | various points of interest; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Heir to a proud culture, Francisco Gomez is helping |

| 20 | 21 | | to preserve the vital traditions and values of the Pueblo while |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | working to enhance the quality of life for its people, and he is |

| 22 | 23 | | indeed deserving of the trust that has been placed in him by members |

| 23 | 24 | | of his community; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 25 | 26 | | Legislature hereby honor Francisco Gomez for his service on the |
