H.R. No. 1539 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Francisco Gomez has earned the great esteem of members of the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo community through his service as a tribal councilman; and WHEREAS, Elected to the Pueblo's governing body on December 31, 2005, Mr. Gomez is now in his third term on the council and is actively engaged in nation-building processes to promote a strong tribal government; he works in the Pueblo Maintenance Department to assist with the preservation of Pueblo lands and tribal structures and is likewise committed to furthering security and sustainability; and WHEREAS, In addition to his longtime leadership in the tribe, Mr. Gomez is employed at the Speaking Rock Entertainment Center, a Tigua-owned business, where he transports visitors to the Pueblo to various points of interest; and WHEREAS, Heir to a proud culture, Francisco Gomez is helping to preserve the vital traditions and values of the Pueblo while working to enhance the quality of life for its people, and he is indeed deserving of the trust that has been placed in him by members of his community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby honor Francisco Gomez for his service on the Tribal Council of Ysleta del Sur Pueblo and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Gomez as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
