H.R. No. 1600 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Shirley Kelm retired from her role as the organist of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Cameron in 2015, after 46 years of faithful service; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Kelm and her husband, Bill, were charter members of the church when it was organized in November 1968; since that time, she has demonstrated her gift for worship music during Sunday services with seven pastors; and WHEREAS, Organ music contributes immeasurably to the spiritual enrichment provided by a church service, and generations of congregants at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church have greatly benefited from the talent and enthusiasm that Shirley Kelm has brought to her playing; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Shirley Kelm on her retirement as the organist of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mrs. Kelm as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
