H.R. No. 166 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Imogene Cobbs of Mineola, who passed away on September 19, 2014, at the age of 80; and WHEREAS, Born in Lott on August 4, 1934, to A. W. and Eddie Holle, the former "Jean" Holle grew up with two sisters and three brothers; in 1952, she married John Cobbs, with whom she shared a rewarding union of more than six decades; the couple became the proud parents of four children, Steve, Jim, Tom, and Tony, and with the passing years, they were further blessed with four granddaughters, Stephanie, Elisabeth, Olivia, and Sevene; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Cobbs found fulfillment in her career with the Mineola Independent School District, where she worked as a teacher's aide, librarian, and administrative assistant over the course of nearly a quarter-century; and WHEREAS, Active in her community, Mrs. Cobbs was a valued congregant at the First United Methodist Church of Mineola; she was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi and the local chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star; and WHEREAS, Jean Cobbs took immense joy in her loved ones and in the time they spent together, and memories of her beautiful smile, infectious laughter, and generosity of spirit will forever be treasured by all who had the good fortune to know her; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Jean Cobbs and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her husband, John Cobbs; to her sons, Steve Cobbs, Jim Cobbs and his wife, Amy, and Tom Cobbs and his wife, Rese; to her sisters, Betty Beauchamp and Bobbie Saltzman; to her granddaughters, Stephanie, Elisabeth, Olivia, and Sevene; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jean Cobbs.
