H.R. No. 1668
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Officer Matthew B. Thebeau of the Corpus Christi
Police Department lost his life in the line of duty on January 20,
2008, and his service and sacrifice will not soon be forgotten; and
WHEREAS, Officer Thebeau was en route to an assault in
progress when he was killed in a traffic accident; a two-year
veteran of the Corpus Christi Police Department at the time of his
death, this dedicated public servant was honored in the community
he so ably served with a park that was dedicated and named in his
memory; and
WHEREAS, Our state and nation benefit immeasurably from the
courage and commitment of law enforcement professionals such as
Officer Thebeau, who willingly place themselves in harm's way each
day to safeguard the lives and property of their fellow citizens;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life and exemplary service of
Officer Matthew B. Thebeau of the Corpus Christi Police Department.
