H.R. No. 1694 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories of Larry Richard Larsen of Houston, who passed away on February 9, 2015, at the age of 68; and WHEREAS, Born on March 13, 1946, in Concordia, Kansas, Larry Larsen was the son of Arthur and Mildred Barleen Larsen; after graduating from Kansas State University with a degree in engineering, he went on to attend Wharton Graduate School at the University of Pennsylvania; a United States Army veteran, he served his country during the Vietnam War, earning a Bronze Star; and WHEREAS, Mr. Larsen worked for McKinsey & Company, Raymond International, and Portman Grey Partners before joining the staff of Powell Industries; he routinely went out of his way to lend assistance and support to his colleagues at Powell and made many friends along the way; and WHEREAS, Mr. Larsen and his wife, Diane, shared a rewarding marriage that spanned 45 years, and they became the proud parents of a daughter, Kathryn; and WHEREAS, Generous and outgoing, Larry Larsen enjoyed a life that was rich in the intangibles that matter most, and he is deeply missed by all those who held him dear; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Larry Richard Larsen and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Diane M. Larsen; to his daughter, Kathryn Hunt Larsen; to his sister, Anita Nelson, and her husband, Elden; to his nieces and nephews, Deanna Garlow and her husband, Don, Scott Nelson and his wife, Barbara, James Velghe, Maggie Glenn-Jones and her husband, Kevin, and Katherine Crostarosa; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Larry Richard Larsen.
