 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Texas colleges and universities contribute
 immeasurably to the future of the Lone Star State, and those
 professionals who give generously of their expertise to these vital
 institutions of higher education are indeed deserving of
 recognition; and
 WHEREAS, Art Fierro has been a distinguished member of the El
 Paso Community College Board of Trustees since 2006; he has chaired
 the board for the past seven years, and his exceptional leadership
 has further benefited one of the state's small business advisory
 committees and the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, which he
 has served as president and CEO; and
 WHEREAS, This distinguished gentleman attended both EPCC and
 The University of Texas at El Paso, and he has enjoyed a successful
 career in marketing and public relations with a number of different
 firms and entities; active in his community, Mr. Fierro has been a
 board member for the Hispanic Leadership Institute of El Paso, the
 City of El Paso International Bridge Commission, and the El Paso
 International Airport; and
 WHEREAS, Art Fierro has greatly benefited the students of El
 Paso Community College, and in so doing, he has garnered the lasting
 respect and admiration of countless people along the way; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby honor Art Fierro for his service on the Board of
 Trustees at El Paso Community College and extend to him sincere best
 wishes for continued success with his important work; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, Than an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Fierro as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
