| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The death of Lane Patrick Frizzell of Abilene on |

| 6 | 7 | | March 9, 2015, at the age of 63, brought a great loss to his family |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born in San Angelo on September 5, 1951, Lane |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | Frizzell was the son of Jack and Pat Frizzell; he graduated from |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | Abilene High School and attended the University of Colorado before |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | embarking on a backpacking trip through the Andes Mountains in |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | South America; he completed his degree in business at Texas Tech |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | University in 1974 and joined the family firm, Enrich Oil |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Corporation; he was responsible for the company's field operations, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | where his working knowledge of Spanish was an asset; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Frizzell married his high school sweetheart, |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | the former Miriam Holly Lutz, on June 14, 1975; they became the |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | proud parents of a son, Matthew, and a daughter, Jennifer; with his |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | trove of stories, Mr. Frizzell helped broaden their horizons and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | those of other young people, and through the years, his children |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | often heard their friends joke that their dad was the cool one in |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | the family; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, A talented musician, Mr. Frizzell began playing in |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | bands in junior high, and he was active on the local scene for many |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | years as the leader of the popular group Slim Chance and the |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | Survivors; he continued to enjoy travel, and later in life, he |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | visited several Central and South American countries as a speaker |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | on a Rotary International business exchange trip; in addition, he |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | was a longtime member of the board of the YMCA; and |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Lane Frizzell was a kind and caring gentleman, and |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | although he will be deeply missed, those who were privileged to |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | share in the richness of his life will forever treasure their |
|---|
| 33 | 34 | | memories of time spent in his company; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 34 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 35 | 36 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Lane Frizzell and |

| 36 | 37 | | extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, |

| 37 | 38 | | Holly Frizzell; to his children, Matthew Frizzell and his wife, |
