H.R. No. 1747 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Robert M. Worley is retiring as president and CEO of the Economic Development Alliance for Brazoria County in June 2015, following eight years of distinguished service in that position; and WHEREAS, Since joining the Alliance in October 2007, Mr. Worley has made an immeasurable contribution to promoting and diversifying the county's economic base, attracting high-wage jobs in target industries, and supporting the interests of existing businesses in the area; under his able leadership, the nonprofit organization has implemented a number of best practices to benefit Brazoria County, including utilizing economic impact analyses and fostering positive and professional interactions with prospective businesses, Alliance members, and elected officials; and WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a bachelor's degree in psychology, this esteemed administrator has been employed in economic development in the Lone Star State since the late 1970s; Mr. Worley joined the Alliance after working for economic development entities in Paducah, Mount Pleasant, McKinney, Bryan/College Station, and Dumas; in all his endeavors, he enjoys the love and support of his wife, Fawncyne; and WHEREAS, Robert Worley has made a positive difference in the lives of his fellow citizens, and he may take justifiable pride in a job well done as he looks ahead to the next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Robert Worley on his retirement as president and CEO of the Economic Development Alliance for Brazoria County and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Worley as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
