R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Jasper High School senior soccer player Pam
McFarland has been named a Wendy's 12Star Athlete of the Week by
KBMT-TV; and
WHEREAS, Ms. McFarland has been an integral part of the Lady
Bulldogs roster throughout the 2015 season in her role as a starting
central defender; she helped the team to compile a perfect 21-0
record during the regular season and to capture the District 18-4A
crown; and
WHEREAS, The 12Star Athlete of the Week honor is just the
latest accolade received by Ms. McFarland, as she has been
previously recognized as the All-District Defensive Player of the
Year and as a Beaumont Enterprise Super Gold honoree; she will
continue her athletic career at the collegiate level in the fall as
a member of the soccer team at Lamar University; and
WHEREAS, This young athlete's skill and determination are an
inspiration to her teammates, her coaches, and her fellow students,
and she may take justifiable pride in her accomplishments; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Pam McFarland on her selection as a
Wendy's 12Star Athlete of the Week by KBMT-TV and extend to her
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. McFarland as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
