45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Five eighth grade students from Waco Baptist Academy
67 have earned well-deserved recognition for their achievements at the
78 Central Texas Science and Engineering Fair held at Texas State
89 Technical College on February 24, 2015; and
910 WHEREAS, Ably guided by their science teacher, Melinda
1011 Johnson, the students demonstrated knowledge and skill in their
1112 chosen subjects; Lexys Rocha won first place in animal sciences and
1213 was a finalist for the Broadcom MASTERS Award; Luke Stanford took
1314 second place in cellular and molecular biology, and Grace Mathis
1415 placed second in physics and astronomy; Joshua Gorman received an
1516 honorable mention in environmental science and second place in the
1617 Stockholm Junior Water Award, while Landen Daniels received an
1718 honorable mention for his efforts in materials engineering; and
1819 WHEREAS, Through their participation in the Central Texas
1920 Science and Engineering Fair, these fine young Texans have shown
2021 great initiative and ability, and they may indeed look forward to a
2122 future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it
2223 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2324 Legislature hereby congratulate the students from Waco Baptist
2425 Academy on their success at the Central Texas Science and
2526 Engineering Fair and extend to them sincere best wishes for
2627 continued success; and, be it further
2728 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2829 prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the
2930 Texas House of Representatives.
