H.R. No. 1755 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Five eighth grade students from Waco Baptist Academy have earned well-deserved recognition for their achievements at the Central Texas Science and Engineering Fair held at Texas State Technical College on February 24, 2015; and WHEREAS, Ably guided by their science teacher, Melinda Johnson, the students demonstrated knowledge and skill in their chosen subjects; Lexys Rocha won first place in animal sciences and was a finalist for the Broadcom MASTERS Award; Luke Stanford took second place in cellular and molecular biology, and Grace Mathis placed second in physics and astronomy; Joshua Gorman received an honorable mention in environmental science and second place in the Stockholm Junior Water Award, while Landen Daniels received an honorable mention for his efforts in materials engineering; and WHEREAS, Through their participation in the Central Texas Science and Engineering Fair, these fine young Texans have shown great initiative and ability, and they may indeed look forward to a future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate the students from Waco Baptist Academy on their success at the Central Texas Science and Engineering Fair and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
