H.R. No. 1757 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Texans depend on the skill and dedication of our state's law enforcement professionals, who play an indispensable role in ensuring the security and welfare of the residents of their communities; and WHEREAS, One early morning in March 2015, 81-year-old Don McNeely experienced car trouble and became stranded on Lake Shore Drive in Waco; Officer Kurt Morsbach of the Waco Police Department came to his aid and, with the assistance of Officer Charles Herren, helped to move the car to safety; to ensure the well-being of Mr. McNeely, Officer Morsbach stayed on the scene with him until a tow truck arrived; and WHEREAS, Upholding their oaths to protect and serve, Officers Kurt Morsbach and Charles Herren exemplify the highest ideals of their profession, and their efforts have earned them the appreciation of a grateful citizenry; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby commend Officer Kurt Morsbach and Officer Charles Herren of the Waco Police Department for assisting a motorist in need and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success with their important work; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Officer Morsbach and Officer Herren as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
