45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Fields Store Elementary School in Waller has been
67 named a 2014 Blue Ribbon School, the highest national designation a
78 school can receive; and
89 WHEREAS, Created by the U.S. Department of Education, the
910 Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes schools demonstrating
1011 overall academic excellence or making notable progress in improving
1112 outcomes among disadvantaged students; the program has been in
1213 existence for more than three decades; and
1314 WHEREAS, Fields Store is skillfully led by principal Melissa
1415 Crosby, and its students have consistently performed above average
1516 on state and national assessments; the school serves approximately
1617 700 prekindergarten through fifth-grade students in the Waller
1718 Independent School District; and
1819 WHEREAS, Through their dedication and hard work, the students
1920 and faculty of Fields Store Elementary School have built an
2021 impressive record of scholastic achievement, and they may take
2122 great pride in earning this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be
2223 it
2324 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2425 Legislature hereby congratulate Fields Store Elementary School on
2526 its selection as a 2014 National Blue Ribbon School and extend to
2627 its students, teachers, and staff sincere best wishes for continued
2728 success; and, be it further
2829 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2930 prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3031 House of Representatives.
