R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Fields Store Elementary School in Waller has been
named a 2014 Blue Ribbon School, the highest national designation a
school can receive; and
WHEREAS, Created by the U.S. Department of Education, the
Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes schools demonstrating
overall academic excellence or making notable progress in improving
outcomes among disadvantaged students; the program has been in
existence for more than three decades; and
WHEREAS, Fields Store is skillfully led by principal Melissa
Crosby, and its students have consistently performed above average
on state and national assessments; the school serves approximately
700 prekindergarten through fifth-grade students in the Waller
Independent School District; and
WHEREAS, Through their dedication and hard work, the students
and faculty of Fields Store Elementary School have built an
impressive record of scholastic achievement, and they may take
great pride in earning this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Fields Store Elementary School on
its selection as a 2014 National Blue Ribbon School and extend to
its students, teachers, and staff sincere best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
