| 10 | 11 | | Mr. Tipton returned to his high school alma mater in Robstown to |

| 11 | 12 | | commence an outstanding 17-year tenure, over the course of which he |

| 12 | 13 | | coached the track and field and cross-country teams and guided the |

| 13 | 14 | | Cotton Pickers to a district track title and two district |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | cross-country titles; he has additionally coached football and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | track and field teams at Mathis, Flour Bluff, Gregory-Portland, and |

| 16 | 17 | | Moody High Schools; and |

| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Highly regarded for his success with a number of |

| 18 | 19 | | athletic programs, Mr. Tipton was named Track Coach of the Year by |

| 19 | 20 | | the Corpus Christi Caller-Times and was selected to coach the |

| 20 | 21 | | all-star football game presented by the Texas High School Coaches |

|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, With his exceptional ability to teach and motivate, |

| 23 | 24 | | Leonard Tipton has made a positive difference in the lives of |

| 24 | 25 | | hundreds of young athletes, and in so doing, he has earned a place |

| 25 | 26 | | among the legendary coaches of the Coastal Bend area; now, |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
