H.R. No. 1763 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Leonard Tipton received well-deserved recognition when he was inducted into the Coastal Bend Coaches Association Hall of Honor at a banquet held in Corpus Christi on January 17, 2015; and WHEREAS, Following his graduation from Texas A&I University, Mr. Tipton returned to his high school alma mater in Robstown to commence an outstanding 17-year tenure, over the course of which he coached the track and field and cross-country teams and guided the Cotton Pickers to a district track title and two district cross-country titles; he has additionally coached football and track and field teams at Mathis, Flour Bluff, Gregory-Portland, and Moody High Schools; and WHEREAS, Highly regarded for his success with a number of athletic programs, Mr. Tipton was named Track Coach of the Year by the Corpus Christi Caller-Times and was selected to coach the all-star football game presented by the Texas High School Coaches Association; and WHEREAS, With his exceptional ability to teach and motivate, Leonard Tipton has made a positive difference in the lives of hundreds of young athletes, and in so doing, he has earned a place among the legendary coaches of the Coastal Bend area; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Leonard Tipton on his induction into the Coastal Bend Coaches Association Hall of Honor as a member of the Class of 2015 and commend him on his many achievements; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Coach Tipton as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
