 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, David McKinney received well-deserved recognition
 when he was inducted into the Coastal Bend Coaches Association Hall
 of Honor at a banquet held in Corpus Christi on January 17, 2015;
 and
 WHEREAS, After proving his coaching mettle as defensive
 coordinator for the Palacios High School football team for five
 years, Mr. McKinney served as head football coach and athletic
 director at Van Vleck High School for three years and was
 subsequently hired by Uvalde High School; in 1992, he began a
 nine-year tenure as defensive coordinator at Refugio High School,
 and he later assumed the same role at Gregory-Portland High School
 for 12 years and at Rockport-Fulton High School for the 2014 season;
 and
 WHEREAS, Off the gridiron, Mr. McKinney has further
 distinguished himself over the years as head coach of the boys'
 track and field teams at Palacios, Uvalde, Refugio, and
 Gregory-Portland High Schools; and
 WHEREAS, With his exceptional ability to teach and motivate,
 David McKinney has made a positive difference in the lives of
 hundreds of young athletes, and in so doing, he has earned a place
 among the legendary coaches of the Coastal Bend area; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate David McKinney on his induction
 into the Coastal Bend Coaches Association Hall of Honor as a member
 of the Class of 2015 and commend him on his many achievements; and,
 be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Coach McKinney as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
