 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Dr. Karen Nykorchuk McCaleb of Texas A&M
 University--Corpus Christi has won distinction for herself through
 her induction into the Texas A&M University System Chancellor's
 Academy of Teacher Educators in 2015; and
 WHEREAS, The Chancellor's Academy recognizes educators from
 the university system who have made significant contributions to
 the field of teacher education in the Lone Star State; and
 WHEREAS, Dr. McCaleb earned her bachelor's degree in
 elementary education from Framingham State University and her
 master's degree in moderate special education from Westfield State
 University, and she holds an Ed.D. degree in special education with
 an emphasis in severe and profound disabilities from the University
 of Northern Colorado; she also earned her certification in
 assistive technology from the University of Colorado at Denver
 Health Sciences Center; and
 WHEREAS, This dedicated educator has considerable classroom
 experience teaching students with disabilities in a variety of
 settings, from residential to fully inclusive schools; since 1999,
 she has taught undergraduate and graduate education students in the
 field of severe and profound disabilities; she was the training and
 curriculum coordinator for the National Center on Low-Incidence
 Disabilities before accepting a position at West Texas A&M
 University, and she joined the faculty at Texas A&M
 University--Corpus Christi in 2007; and
 WHEREAS, With skill, expertise, and enthusiasm, Dr. McCaleb
 trains the K-12 teachers who will in turn help the students of Texas
 meet the challenges and opportunities of the future, and she is
 truly deserving of this prestigious professional award; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Karen Nykorchuk McCaleb on
 being named a 2015 inductee of the Texas A&M University System
 Chancellor's Academy of Teacher Educators and extend to her sincere
 best wishes for continued success with her important work; and, be
 it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Dr. McCaleb as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
