56 WHEREAS, Members of the 2014-2015 Leadership Mid Valley class
67 are visiting the State Capitol on April 8, 2015, to gain further
78 insight into the workings of state government; and
89 WHEREAS, Leadership Mid Valley is an exceptional program that
910 provides opportunities for participants to develop leadership
1011 skills and increase their knowledge of vital public issues; and
1112 WHEREAS, Classes inspire the spirit of activism and provide a
1213 diverse membership with networking opportunities and instruction
1314 from knowledgeable figures who encourage students to acquaint
1415 themselves with community needs and problems while evaluating
1516 possible solutions; and
1617 WHEREAS, This year's Leadership Mid Valley class includes
1718 Mary Arce, Juan Balderrama, Vanessa Barrios, Paola
1819 Escalante-Castillo, Janie Garcia, Sylvia Ann Herrera, Jose Manuel
1920 Martinez, Gloria Montalvo, Ana Ramirez, Sonia Rangel, Ernesto
2021 Rocha, Douglas Vanker, Scott Vaughan, Ruben Villanueva, and Joanna
2122 Ybarra; and
2223 WHEREAS, Endeavoring to foster a more informed and involved
2324 citizenry and to develop new leaders in South Texas, the program is
2425 helping to build a brighter and more promising future for the Lone
2526 Star State; now, therefore, be it
2627 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2728 Legislature hereby welcome Leadership Mid Valley to the State
2829 Capitol and extend to all participants sincere best wishes for
2930 continued success.
