H.R. No. 1857
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Members of the 2014-2015 Leadership Mid Valley class
are visiting the State Capitol on April 8, 2015, to gain further
insight into the workings of state government; and
WHEREAS, Leadership Mid Valley is an exceptional program that
provides opportunities for participants to develop leadership
skills and increase their knowledge of vital public issues; and
WHEREAS, Classes inspire the spirit of activism and provide a
diverse membership with networking opportunities and instruction
from knowledgeable figures who encourage students to acquaint
themselves with community needs and problems while evaluating
possible solutions; and
WHEREAS, This year's Leadership Mid Valley class includes
Mary Arce, Juan Balderrama, Vanessa Barrios, Paola
Escalante-Castillo, Janie Garcia, Sylvia Ann Herrera, Jose Manuel
Martinez, Gloria Montalvo, Ana Ramirez, Sonia Rangel, Ernesto
Rocha, Douglas Vanker, Scott Vaughan, Ruben Villanueva, and Joanna
Ybarra; and
WHEREAS, Endeavoring to foster a more informed and involved
citizenry and to develop new leaders in South Texas, the program is
helping to build a brighter and more promising future for the Lone
Star State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby welcome Leadership Mid Valley to the State
Capitol and extend to all participants sincere best wishes for
continued success.
