| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Locally owned businesses make a welcome |

| 7 | 8 | | Beefy Burger has been a fixture on the Robstown restaurant scene for |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Patricia Alonzo became an owner of Beefy Burger in |

| 10 | 11 | | 1999, and she has managed and operated the fast-food establishment |

| 11 | 12 | | since 2008; and |

| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, A Robstown native, Ms. Alonzo takes great pride in |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | the teamwork of her personnel, and the Golden Rule is central to her |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | management style; one of her staff members has worked at the |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | restaurant for 17 years, with nearly perfect attendance, and her |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | daughter, Priscilla, is employed at the restaurant; and |

| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, A successful entrepreneur, Ms. Alonzo manages |

| 18 | 19 | | several rental properties as well; she holds a bachelor's degree in |

| 19 | 20 | | chemistry and biology from Texas A&M University--Kingsville; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The well-being of the people of Texas depends on a |

| 21 | 22 | | vibrant economy, and independent businesses play a vital role in |

| 22 | 23 | | the prosperity of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 24 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Patricia Alonzo on the success of |
