H.R. No. 1858
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Locally owned businesses make a welcome
contribution to the distinct character of their communities, and
Beefy Burger has been a fixture on the Robstown restaurant scene for
almost half a century; and
WHEREAS, Patricia Alonzo became an owner of Beefy Burger in
1999, and she has managed and operated the fast-food establishment
since 2008; and
WHEREAS, A Robstown native, Ms. Alonzo takes great pride in
the teamwork of her personnel, and the Golden Rule is central to her
management style; one of her staff members has worked at the
restaurant for 17 years, with nearly perfect attendance, and her
daughter, Priscilla, is employed at the restaurant; and
WHEREAS, A successful entrepreneur, Ms. Alonzo manages
several rental properties as well; she holds a bachelor's degree in
chemistry and biology from Texas A&M University--Kingsville; and
WHEREAS, The well-being of the people of Texas depends on a
vibrant economy, and independent businesses play a vital role in
the prosperity of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Patricia Alonzo on the success of
Beefy Burger and extend to Ms. Alonzo and her staff sincere best
wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Alonzo as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
