5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |

6 | 7 | | passing of Odessa Davis Yeager on March 6, 2015, at the age of 91; |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The former Odessa Davis was born on June 4, 1923, to |
---|
9 | 10 | | Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Davis in Hunt County; she married the love of |
---|
10 | 11 | | her life, John Yeager, and they became the proud parents of a |
---|
11 | 12 | | daughter, Toinette; over the years, her family grew to include four |
---|
12 | 13 | | grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, with whom Mrs. Yeager |
---|
13 | 14 | | shared many treasured moments; and |
---|
14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A resident of Mineola for nearly six decades, |
---|
15 | 16 | | Mrs. Yeager was employed as the registrar of Mineola High School |
---|
16 | 17 | | for 20 years, and she operated her own dress shop for 14 years; she |
---|
17 | 18 | | also served as the secretary for First United Methodist Church, |
---|
18 | 19 | | where she was a valued congregant and where she chaired numerous |
---|
19 | 20 | | church committees; and |
---|
20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Deeply concerned for the welfare of others, |

21 | 22 | | Mrs. Yeager gave generously of her time and talents as a 33-year |
---|
22 | 23 | | member of the Pilot Club and as a cofounder and longtime board |
---|
23 | 24 | | member of both the Caring and Sharing program and the Kindness |
---|
24 | 25 | | Kottage resale shop; she also held membership for several years in |
---|
25 | 26 | | the Mineola Chamber of Commerce; and |
---|
26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Odessa Yeager was deeply devoted to her family, her |
---|
27 | 28 | | faith, and her community, and she will forever be remembered with |
---|
28 | 29 | | deep affection by all who held her close to their hearts; now, |
---|
29 | 30 | | therefore, be it |

30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

31 | 32 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Odessa Davis Yeager |

32 | 33 | | and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of her family: to her |

33 | 34 | | daughter, Toinette Collier, and her husband, Ed; to her |

34 | 35 | | grandchildren, Davin Smith, David and Chris Collier, and Dara |
