H.R. No. 2106
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Karl Turk of West Oso High School in Corpus Christi
was honored for his exceptional achievements during the 2014-2015
season by being chosen Coach of the Year in the Corpus Christi
Caller-Times All-South Texas basketball awards selections; and
WHEREAS, Coach Turk guided a relatively inexperienced Bears
team to an impressive 26-8 overall record in his first season as
head coach at West Oso; under his able leadership, the squad
captured the school's 40th district championship and advanced to
the regional quarterfinals of the University Interscholastic
League state playoffs; and
WHEREAS, The All-South Texas award provides fitting
acknowledgement of the talent, hard work, and commitment to
excellence demonstrated by this exemplary coach, and he may take
justifiable pride in his accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Karl Turk on being chosen Coach of
the Year in the Corpus Christi Caller-Times All-South Texas
basketball awards selections and extend to him sincere best wishes
for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Coach Turk as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
