H.R. No. 2107
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Victoria Salinas of W. B. Ray High School was
honored for her exceptional achievements during the 2014-2015
season by being chosen as a member of the first team in the Corpus
Christi Caller-Times All-South Texas basketball awards selections;
and
WHEREAS, Ms. Salinas excelled throughout the year, averaging
16.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game as she helped the Texans make
their first playoff appearance as a Class 6A team; she was also
selected for the 28-6A All-District team; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of Juan and Ana Salinas, Victoria
Salinas is an accomplished student, ranked in the top 10 percent of
her junior class; she is a member of the National Honor Society and
the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica, and in college she plans to major
in physical therapy and sports medicine; and
WHEREAS, The All-South Texas award provides fitting
acknowledgement of the talent, hard work, and commitment to
excellence demonstrated by this exemplary student-athlete, and she
may take justifiable pride in her accomplishments; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Victoria Salinas on being chosen as
a member of the first team in the Corpus Christi Caller-Times
All-South Texas basketball awards selections and extend to her
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Salinas as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
