| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout insignia is bestowed on those |

| 7 | 8 | | to its highest rank, and Jason Ian Thomas of Bellaire may now count |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The son of Vic and Carol Thomas and a junior at the |

| 10 | 11 | | DeBakey High School for Health Professions, this fine young Texan |

| 11 | 12 | | has mastered a number of important skills in his quest to become an |

| 12 | 13 | | Eagle Scout; he has earned 22 merit badges requiring expertise in |

| 13 | 14 | | such diverse areas as first aid, personal fitness, environmental |

| 14 | 15 | | science, and carpentry; he has gained further experience in |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | leadership and teamwork while undertaking his Eagle Scout project, |

| 16 | 17 | | which involved designing and planting a community garden at Christ |

| 17 | 18 | | the King Presbyterian Church in Houston; and |

| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, A valued member of Boy Scout Troop No. 13 in |

| 19 | 20 | | Houston, Mr. Thomas has served his peers as a troop librarian, |

| 20 | 21 | | chaplain, and guide, and in so doing, he has exemplified the many |

| 21 | 22 | | positive traits for which Boy Scouts are renowned; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for |

| 23 | 24 | | attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Jason Thomas has demonstrated |

| 24 | 25 | | an unwavering commitment to the Boy Scouts organization and its |

| 25 | 26 | | ideals, and the knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the |
