5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |

6 | 7 | | passing of Bobby Gerald Gillis of Sulphur Springs on June 27, 2013, |

7 | 8 | | at the age of 81; and |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Bobby Gillis was born in Cumby on November 24, 1931, |

9 | 10 | | to Aura Kyle and Ruth Marie Gillis; on February 2, 1959, he married |
---|
10 | 11 | | the former Janelle Gill; the couple enjoyed 54 loving years |
---|
11 | 12 | | together and were blessed with a son, John; and |
---|
12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, After serving in the United States Army, Mr. Gillis |
---|
13 | 14 | | had a notable career as a highway contractor and businessman; he |
---|
14 | 15 | | worked with his family's company, A. K. Gillis & Sons, for more than |
---|
15 | 16 | | 60 years, and he was a valued member of the Texas Good Roads and |
---|
16 | 17 | | Transportation Association; and |
---|
17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Although Bobby Gillis is deeply missed, cherished |
---|
18 | 19 | | memories of time spent in his company will long endure in the hearts |
---|
19 | 20 | | of his many loved ones; now, therefore, be it |

20 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

21 | 22 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Bobby Gerald Gillis |

22 | 23 | | and extend sincere condolences to his relatives and friends; and, |
